From big triple-A games like The Last of Us 2 to mega-blockbuster movies like Fast & Furious 9, major creative projects are falling victim to the current COVID-19 pandemic. The world of Animation didn't escape its wrath either as major 2020 animated films such as Scoob!, Minions and The Spongebob Movie all got hit with delays. Now, we can add two more to this unfortunate list as Disney has confirmed that both Pixar's Soul and Raya and the Last Dragon are the latest delayed films.
Concerning Soul, the one small bit of good news is that the film manages to keep a 2020 release date. Instead of its original June release, we can now look forward to the new date of November 20, 2020.
As for Raya, Disney Animation's latest ambitious project, it's pushed back from its original November 25, 2020 date to March 12, 2021.
To think that after compiling our most anticipated animated films for 2020 back in January that all but one (Onward hit theatres back in February) will manage to keep its original release date.
COVID-19 continuous rampage on all facet of life doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime-either but, with life there's hope, so we just have to stick together, stay safe and hopefully, everything will be back to normal soon.
