Sadly, we are in a new month and, there are still no signs to the end of this Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic as of yet. Thus, its impact on all facets of life will continue, including the world of gaming. When we examined the virus' impact on gaming in our previous post, we viewed that the cancellation of gaming conference E3 was just the tip of the iceberg and that we should expect more delays to upcoming projects. Sad to say, we have been proven right with yesterday's statement by Sony that The Last of Us Part 2 is delayed indefinitely.
Naughty Dog also released a statement on Twitter about the delay:
The Last Of Us Part 2 was slated for a May 29 release but, as a result of this delay, the actual date is now up in the air.
The Last Of Us Part 2 second delay in less than 6 months is a real shame for what many hope to be a grandstand finished to the PS4 era. Now, all eyes will turn to the faith of other big games that were slated for release later in the year like Ghost of Tsushima and Cyberpunk 2077 as COVID-19 continues its assault on our normal way of life.
