Thanks to a mini Pokemon focused Nintendo Direct this morning, we got our first look at the next 'core' game in the series dubbed POKEMON SWORD & POKEMON SHIELD. With the new trailer, we got a taste of what to expect when traversing the new United Kingdom inspired Galar region, as well as our new starters Scorbunny (Fire Type), Grookey (Grass type) and the adorable Soble (Water type). ​The game looks good (so far) but does it also look unambitious?

​From the moment I saw Goku's first Kamehameha, anime series based on Shonen Jump Manga have been a continuous feature of my life. I journeyed through a variety of different emotions, travelled to many distant worlds, all thanks to shows such as the  Dragon Ball series, Naruto, One Piece and my favourite Gintama. Now, I am very much looking forward to the joy of experiencing new adventures with the next generation of Shonen Jump manga and anime series. My Hero Academia currently leads the pack, but new anime Demon Slayer that is scheduled for a simulcast in April shows great potential after the release of its latest trailer. 

Many Pokemon fans were left feeling a bit disappointing at the lack of new information during Nintendo's last major direct but, surely there time has come as a new direct centred solely around "new information" about the pocket monsters will be streamed by Nintendo tomorrow February 27 at 9:00am Jamaica time. 

​There were some surprises at this years staging of the Academy Awards (namely just how well the show ran without a host), but there was no surprise upset when the winner of the Animation Feature Film category was announced. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse was heavy favourites for the victory despite going up against tough opponents in Ralph Breaks the Internet and Isle of Dogs so many saw their win as richly deserved. The movie's victory also capped off a pretty good night for Marvel as they took home four awards in total (Black Panther got the other three).

With the exception of those that had a week jump start (thanks to Early Access), EA and BIOWARE'S ANTHEM finally released in the wild today. In our preview of the game, we question if some of the early hype was already dying as many gamers that had played the demo found it promising but needed some improvements. EA themselves have been backing the game with its glitzy marketing campaign as they prepare to put all in on the game's success. So what is the verdict so far among critics?
