Quickly...a raise of hands for those who had no idea who the Guardians of Galaxy were before their debuts in the MCU. Hmmm, come on! It can't just be me...right? Sure, we can debate from sun up to sun down about the cinematographic quality of the movies found in the MCU, but what I love the most about it is the great job it does at introducing more of the expanded Marvel characters/universes. This brings us back to the Guardians of the Galaxy. I enjoyed the MCU movies (at least the first one) and would very much welcome another chance to wrap myself in its world. In step Marvel's Guardians Of The Galaxy the game, but can it better the movies in portraying these unlikely group of heroes? Or were we better off waiting for the third film? I must say, the marketing departments over at Twentieth Century Studios and Locksmith Animation must have been all working from home as they hardly drummed up any hype for their new animated film Ron's Gone Home.Of course, hype doesn't automatically makes a film great, but when you have the shiniest gem, surely you would blind everyone with it? Well the reviews are in, lets find out if this is a shiny gem or a lump of coal. Here's the review roundup:
I might get crucified for this, but I adored the original running of The Prince of Tennis anime so much that I considered it to be one of my top ten favourites of all time. Heck, I loved it so much that I even started playing tennis and got into them in the real-life version. However, somewhere along the way, during the airing of The Prince of Tennis 2, I fell off the wagon and lost track of it all. But, I still hold fond memories so, perhaps, this breaking news about the return of the anime series (after 10 years!) came at the perfect time.
We are finally in the month of 'spook-tober', and usually, the best way to get into that good ole Halloween spirit is curling up with a horror-themed game. Throughout the years, there hasn't been one that perfectly blends the DREADful feeling of terror and loneliness better than the Metroid series. So, of course, Nintendo deemed it fit to release the latest entry in the series this month, but was it a dreadful experience? Critics have already played it, and here's the roundup of what some of them had to say:
"this list was created with the idea that some of the recent rumours are right and the final member of the current Fighters Pack will be Sora of Kingdom Hearts."
The above quote is from none other than myself and from a previous blog post I wrote when Sakurai revealed the second season of DLC was in the works for Super Smash Bros Ultimate...BACK IN 2019?! True or false, many believed Sora was slated to be the final fighter of season one. A dream that was spectacularly shattered by Byleth's reveal. We figured it was just too difficult for Nintendo to get Disney to play ball on one of their characters, but oh brother....they actually pulled it off. |
