 Despite celebrating its monumental 100th year of existence, all is not well at the house of mouse. Disney has faced setbacks, including box office flops, lawsuits, and challenges within its once unbeatable cash cow, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Even the usually reliable Disney Animation department has hit a rough patch, with films like Elemental and Wish failing to set the world ablaze. The Downfall of Elemental and WishBoth Elemental and Wish, the latest offerings from Disney Animation, struggled to make a mark. Wish, in particular, fell behind the opening weekend gross of numerous other films produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios. Surpassing only a few flops like Strange World and Raya and the Last Dragon, Wish failed to reach the heights achieved by its predecessors in the 2010s, which opened with more than $45,000,000.
