Here at Bluecrescentstudio.com, we wanted to share some of our work on the website as free downloads to aid those that new to 3D modelling. It had proven success with hundreds of downloads and messages thanking us for making some of our models available for free. This spurred us in wanting to create more models with the sole focus on having these assets ready for ones gaming/animation project. This led to the creation of an all-new dedicated 3D model shop we dubbed Di 3D Shack.
It has been nearly two years since we open our Free Download section on the website and it had seen over a thousand visitors since. We truly appreciate the support, and we been trying our best to add more content to the store. Luckily, we managed to add a bunch more all new Desktop Wallpapers, just in time for Christmas.
I began writing this blog some time ago as a means of sharing/expressing my love for all things animation and gaming to anyone willing to pay attention. It was only supposed to be a side hobby of mine in between working on animated projects. Now, with over 300 blog posts to date, Di Blog has grown beyond my wildest dreams, so much so that we have decided to make it into its very own Mobile App on the Google Play Store.
Reggae, Bob Marley, Usain Bolt, these are a few of Jamaica's greatest and most known global exports. This tiny island with a population of only 3 million definitely has a huge presence in the world thanks largely in part to our unique people, music, style and food. Ranking above them all, however, is our unique dialect known as the Jamaican creole much affectionately known as PATWA/PATOIS. So when we here at Blue Crescent Studio, a very small but hugely proud Jamaican animation studio were deciding what our first crack on app development should be centred around, we landed on the idea of a Patois translator app as a way of sharing what makes Jamaica undeniable distinct with the world.
Our free downloads section have been quietly filling up with some of our favourite 3D models and wallpapers as we are always happy to share some of our work with the 3D modelling/animation community. We put our all in everything we make but accepts that we are not the greatest talent (although we are making strides each day) and thus like a child destined for more, we made our creations available in hopes they go on to bigger things such as possible a major animated project or game. That said, our Assassin 3D model is our best work yet!
On this day in 1962, Jamaica won its Independence from the British Monarchy after the Parliament of the United Kingdom passed the Jamaica Independence Act. It is, of course, a monumental moment in our young nation's history, one that fills this Jamaican's heart up with patriotic pride. The Government is holding its celebrations today at the National Stadium but, we also want to celebrate in our way. We had previously displayed our passion for Jamaica's history and culture in a number of our projects and now, we want to display them all here:
