Another year and another Academy Awards have come and went. And as per usual, our predictions for the winners in both animation categories came up short. Hhmm...What's that? I actually got it right this year? Both Soul and If Anything Happens I Love You won an Oscar? Well, hot diggity damn, I finally got one right!
NieR Automata was one of the best games of the PS4/Xbox One generation. It was so good that by the end of the credits, I was already chomping at the bits for more. It seems Square Enix heard my cries and decided to give me a "new' game in the series this month. NieR Replicant ver. 1.22474487139... is an updated version of NieR Replicant, previously only released in Japan. Should Automata fans be excited to return to the NieR world? When I first laid eyes on Resident Evil Village, I could see right away that she is definitely a looker, and no, I am not talking about the tall lady in white which, the entire internet keeps going gaga over. With the little we have seen about the gameplay so far, there is no question that the game is shaping up well, but after a new trailer was revealed in last night showcase, I firmly on the hype train...IT LOOKS GORGEOUS!

Just like 'Souls-like', 'Rouglike' and 'Battle Royals' games, 'Looter Shooters' is the new sub-genre games people just can't get enough of. And, despite the colossal failure of EA's Anthem, Square Enix is entering the fray with one of their very own in the likes of Outriders. So did they knock it out of the park?
