Next to perhaps the Mortal Kombat series, Grand Theft Auto is arguably the most controversial gaming franchise in history. It is also one gaming most lucrative as the last game in the series GTA 5, still somehow manages to find itself in the top 10 monthly sales chart today despite releasing back in 2013. So, it is no surprise we will be getting a sixth entry in the series. First reported by gaming publication Kotaku, the game is apparently "early in development" and will be "a moderately sized release that is then expanded with regular updates over time". This is reportedly to help with development stress and crunch (a recent criticism that was hurled at Rockstar games/2K Publishers). While an amazing game, Rockstar Games faced numerous criticisms over reports that working conditions on Red Dead Redemption 2 were lest than ideal. The existence of a new GTA was later backed up from a report from IGN that got their confirmation from an anonymous source close to Rockstar Games. While a new GTA being on its way comes as no surprise, it is a bit concerning if these reports of a more conservative game in terms of scale proves to be true. Just imaging Rockstar Games being let loose on powerful next-gen consoles to craft a new world of virtual mayhem makes the mouth water from excitement. However, if this improves working conditions for the hundreds who will work on the game, then I am all for it. Of course, we await an official confirmation Rockstar Games and 2K Games as well as a possible release window. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN:
