I might get crucified for this, but I adored the original running of The Prince of Tennis anime so much that I considered it to be one of my top ten favourites of all time. Heck, I loved it so much that I even started playing tennis and got into them in the real-life version. However, somewhere along the way, during the airing of The Prince of Tennis 2, I fell off the wagon and lost track of it all. But, I still hold fond memories so, perhaps, this breaking news about the return of the anime series (after 10 years!) came at the perfect time.
Announced during the anime series' 20th Anniversary celebration, the new season will be a proper return to form focusing mainly on the U-17 World Cup arc.
Officially titled The Prince of Tennis II: U-17 World Cup, the new season is currently scheduled for a debut next year in Japan.
I am not sure if it's my newfound desire to revisit all my former loves, but I am suddenly super hyped for this upcoming season after hearing this news. Now all I have to do is find a way to complete The Prince of Tennis 2 before it arrives.
