Unfortunately, the global COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing and, as a result, your local government most likely placed a heavy restriction on movement. Now, you are stuck at home and have already somehow exhausted all your viewing options on Netflix, as well as, caught up with your gaming backlog. What an Otaku to do keep himself entertained? Watch lots and lots of anime of course. For our latest list, we are recommending 5 great anime series to watch for anyone who needs a little distraction from the boredom. And, since we have no idea how long this pandemic will last, each of the listed series contains a huge number of episodes to keep you glued to the screen and away from outside. Here are the best anime series to binge: #5. HUNTER X HUNTER 2011If you want to get lost in a grand adventure that is filled to the brim with enthralling fights and great characters, then Hunter X Hunter is a great option. Hunter x Hunter is set in a world where Hunters exist to perform all manner of dangerous tasks like capturing criminals and bravely searching for lost treasures in uncharted territories. Twelve-year-old Gon Freecss is determined to become the best Hunter possible in hopes of finding his father, who was a Hunter himself and had long ago abandoned his young son. This anime is criminally underrated, especially compared to the likes of Bleach and Naruto. Strap yourself in for 148 episodes with one particular arc feeling all too similar to real-life events. #4. Detective ConanIf you had always been into shows like CSI, Law & Order and practically the entire Investigation Discovery TV channel, then Detective is definitely right up your alley. The story follows the high school detective Shinichi Kudo (a high school student of astounding talent in detective work) who was transformed into a child (Conan). With exceptional sleuthing skills still intact, Conan covertly investigates the organization responsible for his current state, hoping to reverse the drug's effects someday. With a whopping 974 episodes and going plus 24 movies, prepare for plenty of mind-bending cases that will put your detective skills to the test for days. #3. Yu Yu HakushoThe number 3 entry on our list is the cult classic Yu Yu Hakusho. A title that it richly deserves for its great action, great plot and character developments, and some truly well-written dialogue. The story begins on one fateful day, when Yuusuke Urameshi, a 14-year-old delinquent with a dim future, gets a miraculous chance to turn it all around when he throws himself in front of a moving car to save a young boy. His ultimate sacrifice is so out of character that the authorities of the spirit realm are not yet prepared to let him pass on. Koenma, heir to the throne of the spirit realm, offers Yuusuke an opportunity to regain his life through completion of a series of tasks. With the guidance of the death god Botan, he is to thwart evil presences on Earth as a Spirit Detective. The series consists of 112 episodes and, we guarantee you will be entertained for the majority of it. Even better, this is one of the few anime series with outstanding dubbing, so go ahead and watch the western version.
#2. The Dragon ball SeriesAkira Toriyama's legendary Dragonball series needs no introduction. Thanks to its trademark crazy over the top fight scenes, the series is arguable the most recognizable anime in history. And while each of the show's main chapters has their strengths and weaknesses, we would still recommend to anyone to watch it all in its entirety. Dragonball is more light-hearted but still a fun watch, GT feels completely different, weird but remained interesting till the end, Super/Heroes are a great modern take on the series and finally, despite some pacing issues, Z which is an unstoppable juggernaut. #1. One pieceBased on feedback from our previous rankings, you guys consider us controversial but, surely there is no argument with our top pick this time. Look back at everything we stated about why you should watch the likes HunterXHunter, Yu Yu Hakusho and DBZ then times it by 20! One Piece is a masterpiece in our opinions and one of the best anime/manga series of our generation. What's even better, despite being currently at episode 924 the end is nowhere in sight. Trust us, get comfy and take the plunge into this sprawling pirate adventure. You won't regret it. And there you have it, 5 great anime series to keep busy and free of boredom while you wait for this pandemic to blow over. When you managed to finish these, you can also check out the likes of Bleach, Naruto, Inuyasha and Black Clover if you prefer a more modern one. And, while we focused on episode count here, you can also re-watch those with a lowered amount that are still great like Cowboy Beebop for example. As usual, thank you for reading and, please be free to comment below about my list or to provide one of your own. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN
