Well, it's finally here...the month that traditionally reserved for the biggest and most blockbuster game releases of the year. The only problem this time, November is looking a little barebone. This is especially so when compared to previous years as it seems this is a direct result of delays (Doom Eternal), Publishers spreading their games more evenly throughout the year and, we are heading into the final holiday season for current-gen consoles. Regardless, as we have done all year, we have put together a list of games that we believe may be the best games releasing in November. DEATH STRANDING (NOV. 8)First up...PlayStation big holiday exclusive. Of course, we know a lot more about Death Stranding at this point as reviews for the game have been out since last week. And as expected, they were somewhat mixed. The game is the latest major project from 'mad genius' Hideo Kojima, so expect the usual huge world, great visuals, great gameplay and of course, the convoluted plot. Need For Speed Heat (Nov. 8)Yep, another Need for Speed title. We too are crossing my fingers and toes that this latest entry in the series will be as good as Need for Speed Underground. To be fair, it seems Heat is trying to do just that as the game is all about competing in a series of sanctioned events where you can earn money to customize your personal fleet of cars, by day, then take on rival street racers in illegal street races ala Fast & Furious by night. Will it succeed? We all will have to wait until Friday to find out when the game launches for PS4, Xbox One and PC. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen order (Nov. 15)When looked at the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order's launch trailer last week we mentioned it did wonders for our interest in the game. We had no hype for this game after it's initial showing at this year's E3 but the subsequent previews from critics and said launch trailer got it here on this list. Next to Death Stranding, Fallen Order is in prime position to be the epic single player adventure of the Holidays. Who said Single Player games are dead.
Pokemon Sword & Shield (Nov. 15)It feels like we have been covering Pokemon Sword & Shield since forever but, there is finally light at the end of the tunnel as we are only a few weeks away from catching them all. The lead up to release day had been interesting, to say the least, with it being marred by fan protest and questionable marketing but, at the end of the day, it's the first true console Pokemon game and that in itself, might be enough for success. Shenmue 3 (Nov. 19)Like the ill-fated console where it made its debut, the Shenmue series was considered before its time. Now fast forwarding to November 2019, a full twenty years after its birth, the series is back in the spotlight with Shenmue 3. The story picks up right after part two where teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki has journeyed from Yokosuka, Japan, to the mountains of Guilin, China, in search of his father's killer, Lan Di. Despite its revival being overshadowed by another cult classic's revival (Final Fantasy 7), there is no question it will be many's 'Game of the Year' solely based nostalgia. We can't wait to see if the series can keep up in the gaming world of today. And that concludes our top 5 recommended games for November. As stated before, the month is a bit lacking in terms of sheer quantity but, with these 5 games and more, there should be enough quality titles to get you through the holidays. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN:
