Demon Slayer Won Big At This Year's Anime Awards

​Crunchyroll's fourth annual Anime Awards are now done and dusted. There were no Hollywood stars or red carpets but instead a WWE host, shy/nervous presenters and the cringe-iest rap video you will ever see. It was perfect for a night dedicated to the anime industry and its fans. As for the awards themselves, Demon Slayer was the 'Joker' of these awards but, unlike the Oscars, the favourites took home the big prize. The night didn't belong to Demon Slayer only as Kaguya-Sama: Love is War sat alongside them on top of Awards table with 3 victories as well. In all the wins were spread nicely around as it seemed all nominees won at least once. Here's the full list of winners:

• Anime of the Year — Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba
• Best Animation — Mob Psycho 100 II
• Best Opening Sequence — Mob Psycho 100 II, ♪ 99.9 - MOB CHOIR feat. sajou no hana

• Best Boy — Tanjiro Kamado, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
• Best Girl — Raphtalia, The Rising of the Shield Hero
• Best Score — Mocky, Carole & Tuesday
• Best VA Performance (JP) — Yuichi Nakamura voices Bruno Bucciarati in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind
• Best VA Performance (EN) — Billy Kametz voices Naofumi in The Rising of the Shield Hero
• Best Director — Tetsuro Araki, Chief Director and Masashi Koizuka, Director - Attack on Titan Season 3
• Best Character Design — Satoshi Iwataki, Original Character Design by Hiroyuki Asada, Dororo
• Best Protagonist — Senku, Dr. STONE
• Best Antagonist — Isabella, The Promised Neverland
• Best Fight Scene — Tanjiro & Nezuko vs. Rui, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba
• Best Couple — Kaguya Shinomiya & Miyuki Shirogane, KAGUYA-SAMA: LOVE IS WAR
• Best Drama — Vinland Saga, WIT STUDIO

​If you look back at our Anime Awards prediction post, you will find that, we got Demon Slayer winning Anime of the Year correct (but way too many incorrect). We like the anime and this victory will further grow its popularity. Here's hoping for more great anime is release this year for the next Anime Awards.
