In a year that saw the revival of freaking Ren & Stimpy, nothing surprises us anymore. And yet, some minds were blown with the recent announcement that zaney 90s cult classic cartoon Animaniacs, will be rebooted in honour of the show's 27th anniversary. With its November 20 premiere date fast approaching, Hulu (which snagged streaming rights) released a new sneak peek trailer to give fans an idea on the new series' progress. If you are a Millennial and new to this show, here's a quick synopsis: Animaniacs features a large cast of characters but focuses on the story of siblings Yakko, Wakko and Dot, who wreak havoc every day of their lives. The series first premiered in 1993 and ran for five seasons before ending in 1998. In such a sad and morbid year, the wacky hi-jinks of Yakko, Wakko and Dot (and lets us not forget Pinky & the Brain) is just what the doctor ordered. Even better, being tucked away on Hulu almost ensures its special brand of humour that would be frown upon in today's soci-political climate if it was to air on cable is safe. I am happy, excited and left with one more word: HELLOOOO NURSE! -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN:
