We have beaten the dead horse about Netflix's ever-growing collection of quality anime at this point that no trace of the poor animal remains. But, when the online streaming giants keep throwing big bucks at quality such as the new anime Beastars, we can't help but sing their praises. There have been reports about exactly when Netflix would release the anime series base on the insanely popular manga of the same name and thanks to a new trailer, we now have final confirmation.
In a society of anthropomorphic animals, the culture is divided amongst herbivores and carnivores. At Cherryton Academy, Legosi, a large but timid and quiet wolf is a member of the school’s drama club, working as a stagehand. The club is run by the star pupil Louis, a red deer. After the death and devouring of a student, the alpaca Tem, a wave of distrust rocks the school as the herbivores and carnivores are at odds. To make life even more complicated for Legosi, he has a fateful encounter with the dwarf rabbit Haru and soon develops very complicated feelings for her.
The series is already out in its native Japan with this March 13 date serving as its international release.
With Trigger Studio's BNA: Brand New Animal also on its way this year, it is an interesting time for fans of the furries anime genre. I personally ain't one but, any series that gives me an anthropomorphic mystery-solving wolf more than pique my interest.
