Trigger Studio's Kill La Kill is one of my favourite anime series of the last decade. It was near perfect with its unique art style, plot, action, humour and smooth as jazz animation. From there, Trigger proved they weren't a one-hit-wonder producing numerous successful series as well as the impressive feature film Promare, late last year. And now, the studio is making a return to the silver screen with their latest series BNA: Brand New Animal and based on its first trailer, they may have another winner on their hands. The series is set in the 21st century, where the existence of humanoid animals that have been living in the darkness for centuries have been revealed to the world. One day, Michiru, who was a normal highschool student suddenly turns into a tanuki person. She runs away and takes refuge in Anima City, that was set up for humanoid animals to be able to live as themselves. Where Michiru encounters a wolf person, Ogami Shiro and goes on to investigate why she became a humanoid animal and in the process gets mixed up in even stranger events. Similar to Kill La Kill, the plot synopsis leaves a 'WTF' taste in your mouth when being read. But, similar to Kill La Kill, it may prove to be nothing more than the excuse Trigger needed to send us all on another thrilling and memorable adventure. Adding the striking and colourful animation that just pops right off the screen, the series skyrocketed to the top of my must-watch list. I simply can't wait for the series to premiere this April. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN
