When it comes to awards show of any discipline, one may examine once a while, there will be a controversial winner. This is especially so in the art/entertainment field, where empirical data has little help in determining a clear winner between close nominees. The likes of The Oscars, The Grammys and The Emmys all come to mind here so, we can expect the same in the area of Anime. 2021 is not one of those years as during Crunchyroll's annual Anime Awards, the majority believed Jujutsu Kaisen was the rightful winner for Anime of the Year. Just like the previous Anime of the Year winner Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen has taken the world by storm since its arrival on the scene last year. It defeated the likes of Great Pretender, Dorohedoro, Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!, and the other big favourite, Beaststars to cop the number one spot. As for the other Major Award Winners: BEST PROTAGONIST - Catarina Claes (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!) BEST ANTOGANONIST - Ryomen Sukuna (JUJUTSU KAISEN) BEST ANIMATION - (Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken!) BEST FIGHT SCENE - Deku vs. Overhaul (My Hero Academia) BEST SCORE - Kevin Penkin (Tower of God) Huge congratulations on the victory to Jujutsu Kaisen, the animators, and all of its fans. I have yet to see it due to my massive anime backlog (and hence my vote went to Beaststars), but I have heard great things about it. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN
