Movies got the Academy Awards, Music got the Grammy's and Sports got the Espy but, when it came to the video games, the industry had to wait for its own grand ceremony where the crème de la crème was rightfully recognized. Thank god for Geoff Keighley and his stubborn determination to give video games its time in the spotlight. At the time of writing, we are currently less than 10 hours away from this year's edition, so we decided to give you all a quick refresher of the nominees from the main categories as well as our picks and who we believe will win. OUR VOTE: Resident Evil 2 MOST LIKELY WINNER: Death Stranding We predict that this year's Game of the Year Award will be a close battle between Control and Death Stranding with the latter controversially (Due to Keighley and the game's director Kojima's very public friendship) taking it in the end. If you don't care who wins whichever award, then the show is traditionally known for big reveals/announcements with at least 10 surprises promised.
