It has been a few weeks since Fatal Fury's Terry Bogard accepted the invitation and officially became Super Smash Bros Ultimate's 74th fighter. Yep, you read that right...74th! The game is approaching Mugen levels when it comes to the staggering number of fighters to choose from, so we were completely amazed when Sakurai announced at the end of the Terry reveal that fans can actually look forward to another Fighters DLC Pack coming. Of course, as a result, we list 5 fighters who we would want to see be apart of that pack. And oh, this list was created with the idea that some of the recent rumours are right and the final member of the current Fighters Pack will be Sora of Kingdom Hearts. Anyway lets begin: ryu hayabusa (ninja gaiden)Every decent fighting game has a ninja character on their roster (and no, Greninja doesn't count and Sheik isn't classed as a ninja), so we would want to see this badass protagonist of the Ninja Gaiden series be the first fighter announced for pack 2. Next to Sora, Ryu Hayabusa was heavily rumoured to be the final fighter of pack 1 but, we believe that Team Ninja's star man should be apart of season 2. Nintendo and Team Ninja/Konami have a great working relationship over the years, plus with the series originating on the NES, we strongly believe he would fit into Smash perfectly like a Tetris block. crash bandicoot (crash bandicoot)When Super Smash Brothers first made its appearance on the Nintendo 64, it was considered the ultimate mascot fighter. Fast forward to the latest iteration on the Switch, gamers can now choose from the mascots of Nintendo, Sega, Capcom, Square Enix, SNK and Bandai Namco to duke it out. The only one missing is a mascot from Playstation (of all places), and this is where we would want to see Crash step in. He may have never been officially dubbed as their mascot but, many 90s kids grew up thinking he was Sony's answer to Mario and Sonic. Plus, with his surprise absence from PlayStations All-Stars, the time seems right to bring him into battle. orchid (killer instinct)If the final character of Fighters Pack 1 is indeed Sora, then that will mean that there will be no new female fighters. We want to see that change with pack 2 and believe there is no one better than Orchid from the Killer Instinct series. The series was created by one of Nintendo's favoured studios, Rare, and made its debut on the SNES with Orchid being one of the main characters (she is basically the Chun-Li of the series) she definitely has history. Also, with Sakurai opening the Smash doors to characters from traditional fighters, it is only fitting one is plucked from that was created under Nintendo's roof.
sub zero (mortal kombat)Why have one new ninja when you can have two? Second, only to Street Fighter, the Mortal Kombat series has a massive presence in pop culture outside the realm of fighting games. Heck, if it wasn't for this series the now infamous 'M' rating on video games would absent. So since Smash is now opened to fighters from traditional fighting games (as stated above), it just got have one fighter from this legendary series represented. The only problem is Smash is for 'good little boys and girls' so picking a fighter from such a violet game won't be easy. But, we believe in Sub Zero, we found the perfect candidate. Next to Scorpion, he is the face of the series and, his ice moves will be both unique to Smash as well as the least violent. The only trouble would be to determine what should be his 'Up B'. master chief (halo)We promise, we are not trolling here but, we honestly believe the last fighter for one of the greatest fighting games of all time is deserving of an 'OMG! I DON'T F#$%ING BELIEVE IT!' moment. And Master Chief from Halo is the only character left we can see giving fans that moment. Such a story would be a blockbuster partly because Chief joining Smash would never happen in a million years but, wait a minute! Banjo Kazooie's surprising inclusion blow this possible window of opportunity wide open. Also, Nintendo and Microsoft are currently the best of pals and, with a new Halo on the horizon, there is a little hope for this dream to become a reality. We have no insider information on anything Nintendo and it's DLC but, boy oh boy what a line up this would be. Lets us know what you think of the list and who you would want to see in the next Fighters pack in the comments below. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN
