A first look at the new King of Fighters Movie

​Any one of you who's an avid follower of this blog would know I grew up Nintendo consoles dating back to NES. So, I will always profess that my favourite fighting game series of all time is Street Fighter, but one day I was introduced to its SNK rival The King of Fighters (really Fatal Fury before it) and fell in love with that series as well (especially after the release of the excellent CVS 2). I was deeply disappointed not had heard anything about a new KOF game during the recent Next-Gen events, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that a new CGI movie is on the way.  

Titled King of Fighters: Awaken, the trailer stars two of the series’ most popular characters, Kyo Kusanagi and his rival, Iori Yagami, along with the movie's villain, Goenitz . It is a direct sequel to 2017's The King of Fighters: Destiny, and is set for Chinese theater release in 2022.

Also, I am must make mention of the beautiful CGI visuals from Original Force and iDragon studios the trailer is sporting. Here's hoping the next game in the series on Next-Gen consoles has visuals that come somewhere close to it.
