Mortal Kombat is arguably one of the most controversial gaming franchise in history thanks largely to it being one of the first ultra-violent video games. There is no question that the series will forever be best known for the violence but, also for the fun gameplay as well as interesting characters/plot. Characters such as Scorpion, Liu Kang, Sub Zero are memorable and thanks to a successful reboot of the series in 2011, we learnt more about them due to the better a plot. A plot that is now being retold via an animated adaptation. Thanks to IGN, we got our first look at a new trailer. According to IGN's exclusive report, Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge will be an R-Rated film and sees the champions of Outworld and Earthrealm battle to the death in a tournament that will determine the fate of Earth. The film appears largely inspired by the 2011 Mortal Kombat game, which itself rejiggered elements from the first three games released in the early ‘90s. I was a big fan of the 1996 Mortal Kombat cartoon, so I welcome another animated take on this world. The art does give an old school 90s cartoon vibe and, the animation does look up to par to the usual DC animation level. Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge comes to Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital in spring 2020. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN
