Since we first learnt of Raya and the Last Dragon, and had it listed as one of our most anticipated animated films of 2020, a lot had happened. The film got 2 delays, a change of lead voices actress, 2 additional directors, and the arrival of a tiny little global pandemic to top it all off. Now set for a March 2021 release, I was eager to learn more before we close 2020's chapter. Thankfully, Disney answered my prayers with the release of a new teaser trailer and must admit...March 2021 is too far away. Officially Synopsis: Long ago, in the fantasy world of Kumandra, humans and dragons lived together in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well. From directors Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada, co-directors Paul Briggs and John Ripa, producers Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho, and featuring the voices of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya and Awkwafina as the last dragon Sisu, Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Raya and the Last Dragon” opens in U.S. theaters on March 2021. Disney Animations' last major animated film was the charming Moana, but this one is shaping up to be so much more. Here's hoping that come March 2021, that tiny global pandemic will be over, and we can all enjoy it together at our nearest cinema. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN:
