This Animated Video About The Plight Of South African Lions Is Amazing & Powerful

If you ever had someone in your life that easily dismissed animation as nothing more than 'cartoons for kids' and thus incapable of conveying any deep thought or meaning for adults? Then just point them to the BORN FREE FOUNDATION & Zombie Studio's animated video 'The Bitter Bond' as exhibit 'A' for how wrong they are. 

When the BORN FREE FOUNDATION wanted the best possible way to bring attention to the real circle of life for most lions in South Africa they turned to Brazilian based animation studio, Zombie Studio. The end result is, in my opinion, one of the most heartbreaking, tragic and beautifully animated shorts I have seen, giving some of Pixar's own shorts a run for their money. But, more importantly, it did its job perfectly as this two minute animated video did more than any written article could in conveying just how important is the fight against the cruel practice of canned hunting and captive breeding of animals in Africa. It's an excellent advert for how powerful a role Animation could play on political and socio-cultural matters in our society. Take a look at the short for yourself below:
