The Final Gintama Movie gets Final Release Date

If you like your anime fulled to the brim with slapstick comedy then their's no better series for you than Gintama. Gintoki and the odd jobs gang have been up to mischief since way back in 2006 and after years the series finale fake-outs, a third movie titled Gintama THE FINAL,  was revealed believed to be the real series end. And today, we finally know its release date and can mark our calendar for January 8, 2021. ​

Message from the writer/director Chizuru Miyawaki:

​"I think this movie is going to be amazing in many ways. All of us are working hard day and night to give it our all so that everyone who is looking forward to it can enjoy it to the fullest. We hope that you will be able to enjoy it at the theater to find out how it's going to turn out, and we also hope that the world will be a place where we can safely deliver it to you by then. ...Anyway, I just finished drawing the whole storyboard for the film the other day, so I can't tell you anything good about it yet (gkbr). "

We have Gintama at number 2 on our Funniest Anime Comedies list, and for good reason. This series gave us so many years of belly-busting laughter and memorable moments that we hope if this movie is truly the end, it goes out with a fitting bang.
