Next to UNITY, UNREAL ENGINE 4 is arguably the world's most popular and complete suite of development tools made for anyone working with real-time technology. This is especially so for the gaming industry where everything from the large triple-A mega blockbusters games to the small indie titles is powered by Unreal. So great news for us Blender lovers out there, we can now add a new add on to Blender 2.80 for Unreal Engine four.
The add on was created by BLEURAVEN, who went on to give more details about it over at Blender Nation stating that:
"This Add-on allows you to export content created with Blender to Unreal Engine 4. It works with Blender 2.8 and earlier versions. Working on object packs for Unreal Engine 4 can be tedious with Blender. That's why I created the Add-on: "Blender for UnrealEngine". It simplifies the method of exporting from Blender to Unreal Engine 4 by allowing you to export all the assets of a scene at the same time. It even automatically distributes them in a proper tree structure in correlation with the Unreal Engine 4 pipeline!
It is free open source and works on Blender 2.8!"
This is great news for those who are more familiar with Blender's interface but prefer to render using Unreal Engine. For more on animation check out the review roundup of Toy Story 4.
