Netflix made no secrets about their heavy push for anime content even going as far as producing live-action versions of much-loved anime series One Piece and Cow Boy Beebop. They earned even more street creds with their announcement that they will be added the cult classic Neon Genesis Evangelion to its repertoire. To tease us fans, even more, Netflix released a brand new trailer that gave us a premiere date so we can schedule our days off from now.
Expect to binge watch all 26 episodes of the show and two of its sequel movies, Evangelion: Death True² and The End of Evangelion on June 21. This will be the first time the show will be legally available for streaming on this side of the hemisphere since its debut in 1995. It is also encouraging to see that Netflix won't just produce new anime series but resurrect the much loved classics (They also got my favourite Rurouni Kenshin).
