July is finally here which not only means we are one more month closer to the release of Next-Gen consoles, but also, we get a fresh batch of new releases for the current ones. June (as is tradition) was more about showcasing future games rather than current games releasing in the month, but we did get some fun titles including one massive Triple-A title. Now looking at July, it does not look much different with the big exception being we get 2 huge titles this month. Here are our choices for the best games releasing this month: Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing In Disguise (July 10)The slow summer months are perfect for trying out quirky titles you otherwise wouldn't have given a chance to, and they don't come any quirkier than the Deadly Premonition series. The first game in the series was released for the previous-gen consoles and was far from the best looking game even for that era. However, the gameplay held up well enough to attract a cult following and ultimately, lead to this exclusive Switch sequel. So, join FBI agent York as he visits Le Carré, a small town in New Orleans where he encounters a mysterious serial murder case alongside his “friend” Zach. Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 (July 10)From one unlikely sequel to another... No one saw it coming when the news broke last week that we will be getting a sequel to Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon a small 8 bit Kickstarter game for the more modern Rituals of the Night. And yet, here we are with part 2 releasing only a few days from now. I thoroughly enjoyed the first game as it brought me back to classic Castlevania games from the NES era so, I can't wait for this one. Ghost of Tsushima (July 17)Remember those 2 huge games that I mentioned is releasing this month? Here's the first one as this PlayStation First Party exclusive is aiming to be one of the best games this year. Following on from the release of the hugely successful The Last of Us Part 2, Ghost of Tsushima is looking likely to close out the PS4 era with a bang when it arrives in the middle of July.
Paper Mario: The Origami King (July 17)And...Here's that other huge July title. Nintendo's next entry in the fame Paper Mario series will also be dropping on July 17 making for a nice 1-2 combo for those lucky bastards that own both a PS4 and Switch. Of course, just being a Paper Mario title doesn't mean it will be a great game as fans weren't too impressed with the previous 2 games in the series, but early trailers for The Origami King looks very promising. Fairy Tail (July 31)I should mention the idea of 'huge titles' can be subjective as you may not be a fan of feudal Japanese samurais or jumping paper plumbers, but weirdly clothed wizards may be more your jam. July will finally see the release of the much anticipated Fairy Tail RPG game. While I would prefer more games, July ain't looking so bad at all. Ghost of Tsushima is shaping up nicely while Paper Mario still needs to prove the doubters wrong. The other 3 titles may be smaller in budget and expectation but may prove to be just as good if not better. Roll on Summer....roll on. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN:
