Yes, Pokemon Sword & Shield had new art/graphics (which many believed could've been much better), but the game followed mostly the same gameplay formula that existed for 25 years. As someone that was there for Pokemon Blue, Sword & Shield didn't exactly reinvent the wheel enough for me to lose my sh#t. Luckily, Gamefreak had an ace up their sleeve, which was revealed moments ago during a special Pokemon presentation. Ladies and Gentlemen, introducing Pokemon Legends: Arceus... "The Pokémon Legends: Arceus game honors past Pokémon games’ core gameplay while infusing new action and RPG elements. You’ll need to catch, survey, and research wild Pokémon in a long-gone era of the Sinnoh region to create and complete the region’s first Pokédex." Yeah, we know, the visuals and some animations look a bit rough that is to be expected with Alpha footage and over a year more in development. But, what is shown so far, looks promising. Also, apart from capturing and battling, it's unclear how this game will play out since this is set during a period before Pokemon Trainers and the Elite four existed, something I see as a positive and a breath of fresh air. Pokemon Legends: Arceus is slated to be released early next year. Apart from this reveal, the presentation also gave us a new look at New Pokemon Snap as well as the reveal for the long rumoured Pokemon Diamond and Pearl remakes. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN
