When THE LEGO MOVIE arrived in theaters back in 2014 many initial believe it was only the latest master plan of another soulless corporate conglomerate to get kids to buy more toys. While that remained the end goal, what we actually got was so much more as the movie was a surprisingly funny, intelligent, and colourful adventure staring lovable characters (looking at you Lego Batman) and awesome music. The movie went on the become a smash hit grossing $469 million worldwide and even wining the BAFTA Award for Best Animated Film. Now in 2019 Emment, Wyldstyle and the whole gang are back for THE LEGO MOVIE 2 but can they pull off another surprise? Or is it impossible for this sequel to live up to the original? Here's what major critics had to say about the film:
VARIETY: 'The message part of “The Second Part” comes off somewhat affected, most likely because the team is more focused on trying to be funny. When it comes to finding this movie’s emotional center, the creators quite literally try to reverse-engineer its heart from a handful of multicolored bricks.' Bring the little ones out for this, and if you have the opportunity, have a sibling tag along as well. Click here https://bit.ly/2UsA1C6 to read the full review.
