September saw the release of stellar games such as GEARS 5, BORDERLANDS 3 and The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening. But, September is now done and dusted, and its October's turn to shower us with more quality games than our wallet can keep up. It wasn't easy but here's our recommended list of October games you should definitely keep an eye on:
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint (October 4)
It may feel like just yesterday the last game in the series, Ghost Recon Wildlands, was released but, we are already a few days away from the release of Breakpoint. The game is the eleventh instalment in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon franchise and is set in an open-world environment called Auroa, a fictional island in the Pacific Ocean. The player takes on the role of Lieutenant Colonel Anthony "Nomad" Perryman, a special forces operative sent to the island to investigate a series of disturbances involving Skell Technology, a military contractor based on Auroa. Wildlands didn't exactly set the world ablaze back in 2017 but, hopes remain high for Breakpoint to be one of the better games in the series when it releases this October 4 for PC, Xbox One & PS4.
Indivisible (October 8)
If brown, gritty, realistic military shooters ain't your cup of tea, then feast your eyes on the gorgeous animations of Indivisible. Born from the minds that gave the world the insane Skull Girls, Indivisible is an upcoming platform-style Action RPG exploration and combat mechanics inspired by southeast Asian mythology and other cultures. The game is definitely one of the more unique games releasing this October, and we can't wait for the 8th to check it out.
call of duty modern warfare (October 25)
Another year...another Call Of Duty game but after last year's surprisingly fresh Call Of Duty Black Ops 4, the series is back on a resurgence. Now, Activision is striking while the iron is hot by turning to their most influential game in the series, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare and simultaneously launching a soft reboot for the franchise. This 2019 edition won't be a one for one remake of its 2007 counterpart but more of a retelling of the story. What's even more exciting is that the game will be the first in Call Of Duty history to support cross-platform multiplayer.
The Outer Worlds (October 25)
If you where one of the many fans that wished for more FALL OUT in FALL OUT 76, then Obsidian's THE OUTER WORLDS may be the answer to your prayers. Swapping the settings of a Post-apocalyptic America for the vivid unknown of outer space is a welcome change for these subgenres of first-person RPGs. Expect to sink hours of your life as your character's story is all up to you when the game comes to the PC, Xbox One and PS4 on October 25. A Switch version is surprisingly also on its way at a later date.
Luigi Mansion 3 (October 31)
Let us not forget that October is the month of Halloween so a game all about spooks and ghouls being on this list just seems right. Luigi Mansion 3 is the third instalment of this weird off beat game starring the green member of that famous plumbing brothers. This time Luigi embarks on a dream vacation with Mario and friends upon receiving an invitation to a luxurious hotel. However, his dream quickly becomes a nightmare when King Boo reveals everything had been a ploy to capture Mario and friends. Back on a home console since the gameplay edition, Luigi Mansion 3 is shaping up to be a great curtain closer for October.
And that concludes our top 5 recommended games for October. As stated before we are really getting into the busiest period for major game releases, so much so we could not fit other noteworthy October games such as Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and Yakuza 4 Remastered on the list.
