Right now the roster seems locked in for 25 fighters at launch with franchise mainstays Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Raiden, and Sonya Blade all making a return. Fan favorites like Baraka and Skarlet revealed delighted the crowd while new characters, Geras and Kronika, piqued there curiosity.
As for gameplay, the game looks cinematic, fluid and fast. NetherRealm married character customization components from it last two games -Mortal Kombat X and Injustice 2 - to gives us a new take on customizing our fighters. You can now can pick which mask, sword, and spear you would want to equip for a character like Scorpion with each of which can be augmented by equipped items.
With regards to the story, Mortal Kombat 11 picks up right after the events of 2011's Mortal Kombat which the developer's official synopsis stating “Raiden has upset the balance of history with the death of Shinnok. Tired of Earthrealm’s defiance, Kronika, The Keeper of Time will bring order to the universe through any means necessary.”
