2019 is done, finished, finito! It is time to look ahead to the games that are releasing in this year and boy oh boy, 2020 looks promising. We of course, already know that next-gen already officially kicks off later this year with the recent The Game Awards giving us a small glimpse of this future. But, this gen isn't quite done yet as there are still several awesome titles on their way to the current consoles. And with that said, let us look at the major games releasing in the first month of 2020: dragon ball z : kakarot (Jan. 17)If you grew up watching Toonami every day after school as I did, then Dragon Ball Z was your whole life. The mega anime franchise is once again kamamaha-ing to a console near you with Namco Bandai's Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot on January 17. This time the game will be an RPG and be based around the life of the Dragon Ball franchise's main man Goku during the Z years. Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot will be released for the Xbox One and PS4. Tokyo mirage sessions #fe encore (Jan. 17)Always wanted to play a mainline Persona game on for your Nintendo Switch? Unfortunately, you would have to settle for the button masher Persona Scramble. Or you can turn to an RPG that was made by some of the Persona developers and plays a bit similar to the famous series. Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE is a 2015 crossover role-playing video game developed by Atlus and first published by Nintendo for the Wii U home console in 2015. The game combines gameplay, narrative and aesthetic elements from Atlus' Shin Megami Tensei and Nintendo's Fire Emblem series. Now on January 17, Nintendo is giving us an encore performance with a port of the original game on the Big N's hybrid system. Journey to the Savage Planet (Jan. 28)When I first laid eyes on Journey To The Savage Planet, I got a poor man's No Man's Sky mixed with The Outer World vibe. To be honest, this game flew under my radar since its first reveal at last year's E3 but shines brightly now during a month where quality releases are somewhat limited. According to the game's official website, "JOURNEY TO THE SAVAGE PLANET IS AN UPBEAT CO-OP ADVENTURE GAME SET IN A BRIGHT AND COLORFUL ALIEN WORLD FILLED WITH WEIRD AND WONDERFUL CREATURES." Sounds interesting enough for me to be placed on this list. Warcraft 3: Reforged (Jan 28)Before there was League of Legends, Smite, DOTA...there exist Warcraft. Arguably considered the gran-daddy of the RTS genre, Warcraft is making come back this month as an enhanced port of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and its expansion The Frozen Throne. The gameplay will remain the same but this version will see the addition of revamped graphics, improved modding capabilities, an altered campaign, balance changes and modern online Battle.net features. It is scheduled to be released on January 28, 2020, for PC. And that concludes our top 5 recommended games for January. Arguably the greatest year in gaming is off to a slightly sluggish start but, there still exist quite a few gems to hold you over to February. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN:
