On this day in 1962, Jamaica won its Independence from the British Monarchy after the Parliament of the United Kingdom passed the Jamaica Independence Act. It is, of course, a monumental moment in our young nation's history, one that fills this Jamaican's heart up with patriotic pride. The Government is holding its celebrations today at the National Stadium but, we also want to celebrate in our way. We had previously displayed our passion for Jamaica's history and culture in a number of our projects and now, we want to display them all here: Jamaican Short Film: The Christmas RebellionThe Christmas Rebellion lead by national hero Samuel Sharp in 1831 was a major catalyst for the anti-slavery movement in Jamaica and the Caribbean. Here is our very short adaptation of a prominent moment in Jamaica's History. Happy Hero's Day JamaicaOne of our very first attempts at animation, this short film was created for National Hero's Day as we paid homage to Jamaica's only National Heroine, Nanny of the Maroon. Jamaican Short: Thou Shalt Not Steal! In this (very short) animation, we shed some light on the not so good part of Jamaican culture where some citizens employ illegal methods to steal electricity from the Jamaican Public Service (JPS). The twist was shocking. Proudly Celebrating Jamaica's INDEPENDENCEAnd finally, this video is another of our early animated work. This time we created it to directly celebrate Jamaica's Day of Independence. As seen in the video, this was released on this very day two year's ago for Jamaica's 55th. There have it, again, we will like to wish all Jamaicans (both at home and abroad) a safe and Happy Independence Day celebrations. We are also working on more Jamaican animated projects to display in time for Jamaica's 58th.
