Usually, during this time of year, fans and the gaming industries' big wigs would all be gearing up for arguably gaming's biggest spectacle, the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). Ever since its inception 25 years ago, E3 had been the industries' best means of showcasing new games, consoles and tech. A consecutive trend that will be broken this year thanks to COVID-19, prompting many devs and publishers to draft up new ways of bringing new information about their products to us this Summer. Well, 14 of them have decided to come together to produce their own digital event titled New Game+ Expo. These 14 are a collection of North American and Japan publishers that are looking to showcase over 40 games, including new game announcements and live gameplay demos from the likes of Aksys, Koei Tecmo, WayForward and Sega. SEGA is promising big things this year for Sonic's 30th Anniversary. The New Game+ Expo will air via Twitch on June 23, 2020 at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET, and then trailers and highlights will hit the expo YouTube channel. In a statement, NGPX organizer Adam Johnson implied this may last into future years. "New Game+ Expo is a grassroots coalition of publishers and developers," he said in the announcement. "Organizing together for the first time, we hope fans have fun as we take a look at the combined upcoming lineup of games for 2020 and beyond!" Here's hoping there is more information on No More Heroes 3 shown at this event. New Game+ Expo Publisher List
With Microsoft and Sony keeping their own events in the summer, and strong rumours about Nintendo Directs being cancelled, this announcement is welcomed news. This line up may not consist of big triple-A hitters like Activision, Capcom and EA (who are still having their now annual EA Play Live in June), but they collective have some great IPs under their belts. Bring on Summer...I am ready. -YOU MAY ALSO BE INTERESTED IN:
