From Disney's Mulan to One Piece and One Punch Man of the Anime universe, we currently live in the era of live-action remakes. It's as if Tinsel town has finally hit the proverbial wall and ran out of original ideas, spawning all kind of film adaptions from other mediums such as comics, books, games and yes, even animation. I don't usually have an issue with the world of cinema looking elsewhere for inspiration, however, when it comes to live-action remakes of animated titles, it leaves a sour taste in my mouth. While there has been some success with these adaptations -looking at you The Jungle Book- there have been far too many missteps -looking at you Dumbo. But, it seems this will be the norm going forward so, I will be a good sport and at least give Hollywood/Netflix my recommended animated titles that deserve a live-action adaptation.

Unfortunately, the global COVID-19 pandemic is still ongoing and, as a result, your local government most likely placed a heavy restriction on movement. Now, you are stuck at home and have already somehow exhausted all your viewing options on Netflix, as well as, caught up with your gaming backlog. What an Otaku to do keep himself entertained? Watch lots and lots of anime of course. For our latest list, we are recommending 5 great anime series to watch for anyone who needs a little distraction from the boredom. And, since we have no idea how long this pandemic will last, each of the listed series contains a huge number of episodes to keep you glued to the screen and away from outside. Here are the best anime series to binge:
March 10 is widely known as MAR10 Day. A day where Nintendo fans all over the world pay homage to the Super Mario Bros franchise and to the chubby super plumber himself. We are at Blue Crescent Studio are big Nintendo fans ourselves and thus, to join in on the celebrations, we originally compiled a ranked list of our favourite Super Mario games. Sadly, tragedy struck as the dreaded Coronavirus stole the show when the Jamaican Government announced our first reported case the same day prompting us to delay this feature out of respect. Nonetheless, the show must go on. Ranked 5 to 1, here are our favourite mainline Super Mario games:
I began writing this blog some time ago as a means of sharing/expressing my love for all things animation and gaming to anyone willing to pay attention. We all live in a world that at times (and more so for some than others) can be a difficult place to be in and thus, I would often turn to animation and, more so gaming, for a temporary escape. Spending hours upon hours slaying noobs with your friends online or totally getting lost in the world of an expertly crafted RPG were at times, a perfect bubble from the harsh reality of life. So, what happens when that realm, that perfect bubble, is penetrated by the very same reality we tried so desperately escape from? The answer is not to panic but, to instead take notice, get informed and take to heart that there are aspects of life that are simply inescapable. The Corona Virus (Covid-19) is here and, it is real.
As exclusive Blender users, we here at Blue Crescent Studio are the first to champion the successful introduction of Blender 2.80. Its arrival was like a breath of fresh air to our creative process with the rendering engine, Eevee being the highlight. It is so satisfying to have your work rendered in real-time before the project is completed. Other little touch-ups such as the improvements to Cycles and the UI are all extra gravy on an already well-cooked dish. However, as we all know in the world of software development, nothing is perfect. Thus, it was no surprise to see that Blender 2.80 was updated twice since its release with the promise of more to come.
With Valentine's Day, February is seen by many as the month of love. I had a great time with my better half until we finished the day watching a Sex and the City special Valentine's day marathon. I never like the show much while my wife, on the other hand, adore it but, during about 3 nauseating hours in, My mind began to wonder and landed at all the love stories/romances in animation. So naturally, I have made my list of my favourites to share with the world. This feature will consist of 2 parts ending next week when I take you through my favourite anime romances but, for today, we start with my 5 favourite cartoon romances:
