Bayonetta 3 review roundup

Yes! We Know about the Voice acting controversy surrounding this game before its launch. Yes! We know this is a pseudo-realistic hardcore action game on the ageing Nintendo tablet. But! Have you all forgotten this Platnium Games' Bayonetta we talking about? A series, in my opinion, that introduced one of the most refine action gameplay the industry has ever seen? As long as Bayonetta 3 surpass or at least matches the excellent gameplay that was present in the previous iterations, that would be enough for fans to sink hours upon hours on combo-ing Homunculi...right? Let's find out...here's the review roundup: 

DESRTRUCTOID (SCORE 10/10)
'In an early tone-setter for the game, you’ll water ski as a giant demon dragon, and it only gets wackier from there. When playing Bayonetta 3, much to my delight, I had no clue what was going to happen next at all times. I was absorbed, and between the crazy story, the environments, and the action system that’s been refined through two prior games (and years of experience), I had very little downtime. It’s pretty much everything an action fan could want.'

GAMESPOT (SCORE 9/10)
'What Bayonetta 3 lacks in visual fidelity, however, it more than makes up for with style. With bright colors and a jazzy feel to the game, it ventures closer to Atlus' prowess with style. The music is also fantastic. From dramatic numbers filled with operatic vocals to the fast-paced pop-punk bops that play when Viola is on the field, the game does not lack in tracks that are just as grand and as energetic as Bayonetta 3 itself. I'm not sure whether it's because of the game's fantastic music, the use of the word "verse" to refer to encounters, or her over-the-top style, but when I think of Bayonetta I can't help but imagine her as a popstar. Bayonetta 3 feels like her Las Vegas residency: a lavish and spectacular show where each number is beautifully choreographed, every song is a banger, and the guest appearances are sure to delight.'

GAMEINFORMER (SCORE 8.3/10)
'Bayonetta 3, for the vast majority of its runtime, is an absolute blast. It's bombastic, over-the-top, and extravagant for the sake of extravagance, leaving ruins, literally, in its wake. I'm already going back through each level trying for better scores, and I have no immediate plans of stopping. I may be hesitant about the series' future, but at present, this is the best Bayonetta has ever been.'

'When taking charge of the action, Bayonetta is more fun to rip and tear with here than ever before, with some smart evolutions in how her role as a summoner can add to her combat without taking anything meaningful away. But some of the same issues that plagued its predecessors are just as present here as well, if not more-so – just get out of Bayonetta's way, and let her do what she does best (which might not be very nice, but sure can be hella fun).'

Overall, Bayonetta 3 currently sits at a Metascore of 89 from 69 reviews. In contrast, its predecessor, Bayonetta 2, garnered a score of 91 from 80 reviews in 2014, signaling that this new entry is a similar experience. 

I absolutely adored both Bayonetta 1 and 2, so the long wait for 3 was very difficult. But, I am more than happy it seems it was worth the wait, and I can't wait to get my hands on it, even if there is a new voice behind the famous witch.
