When we just started doing animation what helped us significantly to get a better understanding of how everything in blender works, was the free downloads of 3d models from experienced 3D Generalists. There were great points of references and a great way of seeing how far we can go with 3D modelling. Now while we are not saying we are masters at modelling but, we decided to give back to the community with free downloads of some of our work. Here is a quick look at the first 3 models we are giving away.

As we found ourselves creating more and more 3D models, we wanted to give back to the modelling community by offering free and paid (royalty free) downloads for some of our favourites. Our models will be offered in the following file formats: OBJ, FBX and Blend. Also, each model downloaded will have textures included. To start, we are offering the above low poly gun model for download free of charge, which you can download directly below:
Or you can head over to www.cgtrader.com/bluecrescentstudio to download the model there as well as view our other models that are on offer (Also look out for our own online store soon).
Aww Valentine's Day, a day for love, a day for flowers and chocolate, a day for another Blue Crescent Animated short. Our latest animated project was all about 'destined love' and we once again put (the still in work) Blender Eevee through the ringer to bring that message to life. After agreeing on the plot we got to work on the models first placing special attention to the star himself, Cupid.
Here at Blue Crescent Studio one of our greatest joy is to bring to life just how unique and special Jamaican life is via the imaginative/creative world of animation. In this (very short) animated short we shed some light on the not so good part of Jamaican culture where there are some citizens that employ illegal methods to steal electricity from the Jamaican Public Service (JPS). Such an act is not only dangerous but of course an criminal offense so we thought to ourselves "what security measures could JPS established to stop this from happening?". And boom! our inspiration for our next project was born.
After having our storyboard established, we moved on creating our models, beginning with the wooden light pole. We surprisingly spent the largest about of production time here has we wanted the model and especially the textures to be as close as possible to the real thing.
Not to be outdone by production time on the wooden pole, the rural surroundings also cost a bit of time. This was due to getting the lightning just right and to be dynamic with the right shadows, and light hitting each model as close to perfect as possible. In the end we spent a little past 5 days outside post production editing and sound effects implementation. Rendering was also much quicker than our past projects as this was also our first time putting the still in beta Blender Evee through its paces. Evee still has many bugs to ironed out but in the end we got our latest short completed:
It is no question that Youtube is the holy grail of online content viewing but as content creators it is always great to reach new audiences. Thus we will be posting on dailymotion new content as well as our youtube page. Our Dailymotion page can be found here: https://www.dailymotion.com/search/blue%20crescent%20studio
